Desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux)

Windows

  1. 1 Download the installer (.exe) from the Downloads page.
  2. 2 Double-click the file — installation runs without administrator rights (current user only).
  3. 3 The app starts automatically; future updates install themselves (signed).

macOS

  1. 1 Download the .dmg (Universal — Apple Silicon & Intel).
  2. 2 Open the image and drag the app into the Applications folder.
  3. 3 On first launch you may need to allow it via System Settings › Privacy & Security.

Linux

  1. 1 .deb: sudo apt install ./file.deb  ·  .rpm: sudo dnf install ./file.rpm.
  2. 2 AppImage: make it executable (chmod +x) and run — no installation required.
  3. 3 Requires WebKitGTK 4.1 + libayatana-appindicator3 (system tray).

Mobile (Android & iOS)

Android

  1. 1 Open the Google Play Store link on the Downloads page.
  2. 2 Tap "Install" — updates arrive automatically via the store.

iOS

  1. 1 Open the App Store link on the Downloads page.
  2. 2 Tap "Get" — updates arrive automatically via the store.

Browser Extension

The normal way is via the store — one click and automatic updates, no developer mode needed. The manual installation below is only needed if the extension is not yet in the store for your browser or you want to test a pre-release version. The requirement to use developer/debug mode for extensions outside the store is a security policy enforced by Chrome and Firefox — it cannot be bypassed.

From the store · the normal way

  1. 1 Open the store for your browser: Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons (AMO) or Edge Add-ons (links on the Downloads page).
  2. 2 Click "Add" — done. Updates come automatically via the store.
  3. 3 Edge uses the Chrome build and can also install extensions directly from the Chrome Web Store.

Safari

  1. 1 Install via the Mac App Store — one click like any other app.
  2. 2 The dashboard opens in Safari as its own window (Safari does not support a docked sidebar).

Without store only: manual install in Chrome / Edge

  1. 1 Download the …-chrome.zip from the Downloads page and unzip it.
  2. 2 Open chrome://extensions (or edge://extensions).
  3. 3 Enable Developer mode in the top-right corner.
  4. 4 Click "Load unpacked" and select the unzipped folder.

Without store only: manual install in Firefox

  1. 1 Download the …-firefox.zip from the Downloads page.
  2. 2 Open about:debugging › "This Firefox".
  3. 3 Click "Load Temporary Add-on" and select the zip (or the manifest.json in the unzipped folder).
  4. 4 Note: temporarily loaded add-ons are removed when Firefox restarts — use the store for a permanent installation.

Office Add-in (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Via AppSource (recommended)

  1. 1 In Excel, Word or PowerPoint open Home › Add-ins (or "Get Add-ins").
  2. 2 Search for "Precious Metals Suite" and add the add-in — it appears in the ribbon.
  3. 3 Updates happen automatically (the add-in is served from the cloud).

Manually via manifest (sideload)

  1. 1 Download the manifest.xml from the Downloads page.
  2. 2 In Office: Add-ins › My Add-ins › Upload My Add-in › select the manifest.xml.
  3. 3 Microsoft 365 for the web works exactly the same way directly in the browser.

LibreOffice Extension

Installation

  1. 1 Download the .oxt file from the Downloads page.
  2. 2 Double-click the file — LibreOffice opens the Extension Manager.
  3. 3 Alternatively: Tools › Extension Manager › Add and select the .oxt.
  4. 4 Restart LibreOffice — the functions appear in Calc, Writer and Impress.

  2. 2 For more metals, more frequent updates and all modules: create an account at account.sammeltresor.de and choose a plan.
  3. 3 Copy your licence key from the account dashboard.
